Michel Lebel is a Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree. He has been the key network practitioner at McGill University Health Centre helping patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for over 10 years. In this time, he has developed an expertise to help smokers quit (smoking cessation is the most effective intervention to reduce the risk of COPD and slow its progression).
The Smoking Cessation Program, based on the Ottawa Model, was implemented in January 2014 at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). He had the chance to act as coordinator for the implementation of the program and specialized practitioner directly involved with the patients. He hopes his participation in this website will help smokers quit, which would be wonderful news for them and their loved ones.
